AU! CROSS X READER 'A PLAYER'S GAME'

There he was the famous player Cross Marian Bouquet of (Favorite flower) in hand and classic too good for you attitude plastered on his face. Today he was going to meet up with his current girlfriend (Y/N) (L/N) at the party of the year but today he had a different plan. Since of late he was begining to feel something different for her, at first he could have sworn he was crazy, I mean him falling for some girl but the feeling kept growing and each day it got stronger. He didn't just want you now, no that wasn't the case this time, he loved you! As much as it cost him to believe it there was no other explanation to it, he needed you and today he was going to prove it or so he planed.

When he arrived the party had already begun, you probably would have nagged him about it if you weren't busy doing something else. He knew you were supposed to sing at the party, he didn't mind though, you had an amazing voice but what he saw wasn't at all what he expected. There you were singing the song that would scar him as the one that broke his heart. How to be a heartbreaker by Marina and the diamonds but that wasn't the part that hurt the most. What broke him was the fact you were surrounded by guys all of which were flirting with you in accordance to the music. You currently had your arms around one of the most wanted bachelor in town after himself, Yuu Kanda, and he was enjoying every second of it.

"This is how to be a heartbreaker!" You sang as you went to the next guy while Lavi took the opportunity and got to close for Cross's confort. You kept on singing then your gazes met, he was hoping that you would be drunk or that you would at least put on an expression that showed regret but to his horror you only smiled and walked your way over to him. That's when the music went soft you put your hand on his cheek and kept on singing with that cruel smile on your face

"Girls we do what ever it will take 'cause girls don't want, we don't want our hearts to break..." you took one of the flowers and placed it on his hair

"In two... so it's better to be fake can risk losing in love again babe" you leaned very close to his face, he thought all of that was a prank, something to annoy him, that the kiss you were going to give now was going to prove it, but boy was he wrong. The moment the music picked up you turned his head away, took the flowers and walked away only to stop a few feet away

"This is how to be a heart breaker!" You threw the flowers at his face and continued your singing all while once again wrapping yourself in Kanda's arms

"Boys they like a little danger! We'll get them falling for a stranger! A player! Singing I lo lo lo love you! Boys they like the look of danger! We'll get them falling for a stranger! A player! Singing I lo-lo-lo love you! Uuuuhh uuuuuhhhh uuuuhhhh Cause I lo-lo-lo love you!" You turned your head and looked straight at him

"At least I think I do~!" You laughed and as if by cue Kanda came and gave you a little less than decent kiss and stayed there, brushing his lips against yours. Cross could only stay frozen as he realized that this time he was the one played. Karma played his card and took it's toll on him. He hated this, having a taste of his own medicine.

'No one should feel this pain yet, I did it more times that I can count' You did the impossible, you broke his heart and he hated it. The heartbroken Cross decided to take what was left of him and go to the bar and drink his pain away.

3 hours later

Cross was drunk, dizzy and speaking incoherent words that no one would listen to because of the high pounding music. He took a glance back and his eyes landed on you dancing with your friends, no Kanda in sight. Why did you do this to him? The question nagged him. Why him? He loved you, sincearely this time! He couldn't take it anymore so he stood up as he could and somehow maneged to come up to you, grab your shoulder and spin you around.

"Why?!" He screamed at you. You rolled your eyes

"Cross you're drunk, go away" His grip on your shoulders tightned

"I loved you damn it! Why? Why would you do this to me?!" You sighed taking in the fact that he wasn't going to walk away without an answer

"Simple Cross, you're a player and I thought it was time you met the coach. Tons of girls loved you Cross, with every fiber of their being they adored you and you did the same thing I did tonight to each and everyone of them. You deserve it" You were right he did deserve it but there was one fact you didn't count on.

"You're right I do deserve it..." you looked at him in shock as well as your friends "But what if I wanted to change that fact tonight" You started to laugh mockingly

"You? Change? Nice try but it takes more than a bouquet of (favorite flowers) to convince me of that!" You and your friends laughed like it was the best joke of the planet

"How about this? Will this prove that I really wanted to change" He reached into his jacket's pocket and took out a velvet box and placed it on your hand. His body moving side to side he wasn't going to last much more, but he couldn't, not just yet. Your eyes went wide and so did your friends. Inside the box was the wedding ring you had always wanted, the one you had seen on one of the many dates with the drunk, hiccuping man who was currently in front of you.

"You were right I deserved it, all of it..." Your eyes started to fill with tears, regret filling your being, he was sincere "I love you (Y/N), I still do that's why hic! I want you to marry me" Tears fell from your eyes as you took out the ring and examened it. Inside the ring were engraved the words 'You're the one and only' . You fell to your knees, one hand holding the velvet box tight the other covering your face, completely ashamed of your actions. You had also fallen for the man but the pressure your friends had put on you and the fact that so may had been left heartbroken by the man had made lock away your feelings until this point. You broke down

'Why did I agree to this damn act?!' You mentally whipped yourself. Yes this was all an elaborate act conjured up by your heartbroken friends and the rest of the girls that had also fallen victim to his act, everyone here, Kanda included, was in on it and you couldn't regret it more. You hadn't noticed but since you were the man's only support he had also fallen to his knees. You couldn't bring yourself to look at him, it hurt to much to do so.

"I'm so sorry!" You screamed repetedly, tears cascading from your eyes

"I'M SO SORRY CROSS!" You screamed your voice breaking because of your endless crying.  His vision started to blur, the alcohol in his sistem taking effect.

"(Y/N)..." his voice was barely a whisper you looked at him through your fingers before he collapsed on your shoulder

"Cross! Cross!" Was the last thing he heard before going completely unconsious.

The next morning

Cross woke up on his bed in his room with the same clothes he had when he went to that accursed party. His head ached as he recalled last nights events but managed anyway. The man rubbed his temples as he sat up on his bed the effects of his hangover starting to take effect.

"Wait a minute... I collapsed at the party, how did I get home?" His question was immediately answered as he looked at the armchair that was next to his bed. Where he found a hunched over, sleeping (Y/N). He couldn't help himself and placed a hand on your back. Your eyes opened instantly and you looked up at him. Your eyes were red and puffy 'She must to have cried herself to sleep'

"Hey, straighten up your going to hurt your back if you stay like that." Cross said gently. Your eyes once again filled with tears and you fell to your knees

"I'M SO SORRY CROSS!!!! I know no amount of words can express how sorry I feel! I'm so very damn sorry!!!" You broke out in tears as if you were mourning and to you that was exactly what you were doing. You were mourning because even though he was alive, you thought you had lost the man that truly loved you. Cross reached down and made you look at him, you must to have looked like a mess, crying all night and all. His face was cold and emotionless you were sure he was going to insult you, curse you, maybe even kick you out and you would have accepted it, you deserved it. But what he did surprised you even more than the wedding ring. He leaned down and kiss you, a passionate kiss, one that made you melt away and made you feel undeserving of the man

"I'm not a man of many words you know that, but here's the one thing I need to say I love you, I still do because to me no other woman can compare, you are my one and only" You started to cry again and lowered your gaze

"I don't deserve this" Cross surprised you once again by picking you up and placing you on the bed next to him and once again making you look at him. Again and again he claimed your lips with his own, sweet, passionate kiss after sweet, passionate kiss you swore you were going to break down again

"Cross-" he kissed you

"I don't-" he kissed you again

"I DON'T DESERVE THIS!" He kisses you again much longer this time. You put your hands on his chest and push him away

"Stop! How long do you plan on doing this?!" He looked at you seriously

"As long as it takes for you to say you love me too and that you'll be my wife"

"Cro-" He kept on kissing you like he was

"I don't-"

"That's not what I want to hear" another kiss fell upon your lips

"Cross..." his lips hovered over yours barely touching them

"Yes?"

"I-I love you..." he inched even closer

"And?" Tears fell from your eyes again

"I will, I will be your wife"

"Finally..." Cross placed his hand on your face wiping the tears away while you wrapped his arms around him pulling him closer while you kissed back. When the kiss ended Cross reached for the nightstand next to the bed and grabbed the velvet box that contained the wedding ring. He took it out and with a gentle smile placed it on your finger

"Now no more tears unless their tears of happiness got it?" You smiled as best as you could as you gave a gentle nod

"I bet I look like a mess" he sighed

"Yeah you do" He said in an uncaring tone which brought a smile to your face. Cross stood up and took off his jacket and shirt showing his very toned and muscular body. Your eyes widened at the sight

"Cross what are you doing?!" You asked flustered

"I'm going to take a shower you coming?" You felt yourself turning even more red

"N-n-no!!" You looked away embarrassed. Cross once again made you look at him but this time he had a sly smile on his face

"Now don't tell me my soon to be wife is getting shy. Come on it's only a shower" He had a point why should you be embarrassed? You have done the unspeakable act more times you two can count but still you just couldn't bring yourself to do it. You shake your head rather roughly.

"Well, well, you are getting shy!" he inched closer "Guess I have to fix that, don't I?"

"Huh? Waaah!!" Cross picked you up and tossed you over his shoulder

"Cross!! What the hell are you doing?!"

"I'm going to wash that shy bullshit out of you"

"No!"

"Too late we're already in the bathroom" he put you down him blocking the door "First things first, let's get naked, you first wifie"

"Wait! What?! No! Cross!"

Just as you had thought, the simple 'shower' had once again ended in an all out sex fest.

"Well, that was the best make up sex I've ever had"

"Shut the hell up Cross!" You said as you crossed your arms in annoyance and he laughed. He then kissed you and pulled you closer to him

"Love you wifie" He says in his usual confident yet charming tone

"I love you too, asshole"

"Ready for round two?" He raises an eyebrow and gives you a sly smile

"I told you to shut it!"

"That doesn't sound like a no"
