Your P.O.V.

“Levi what the heck got into you?! Hey!” Hanji yelled at the one called Levi as he stormed off slamming the door behind him making you flinch and cry harder into your hands.
“Oh (Y/N)! It’s ok he’s just… really confused” Hanji said as she held you in a warm embrace

“Who- Who is he?” You said starting to calm down and Hanji backed away a little and looked at you

“His name is Levi and he is someone that loves and cares for you deeply, more than he’ll care to admit”

“Love me?” You repeated “In what sick world was that love?! I thought he was going to kill me!” You screamed bitterly

“(Y/N) he’s been through a lot… Please just calm down, I’ll go talk to him but please don’t make him feel worse than he already does”

“What do you mean already?” You spat out bitterly while Hanji looked away

“By what I’ve seen he blames himself for what happened to you” Your eyes went wide

“What?” A question popped in your head

“What did happen to me? My memories have been coming back little by little but the last thing I can remember is the ceremony where I joined the survey corps”

“Really?!” Hanji said with shining eyes

“Yes but the rest until I woke up is just a big gap”

“I see but anyway back to your question” Hanji took a deep breath

“Three days ago Erwin Smith the commander of the scouts-”

“Wait blond hair, striking blue eyes?” Hanji’s eyes widened “Yes!”

“That bastard ran me over at the ceremony!”

“Oh you remembered that, sorry” A deep voice said as he walked over

“You!” You said with a glare

“Hey easy now (Y/N) we’re friends”

“Really?” You said incredulous while he chuckled

“Yes, in fact your favorite color is (F/C), your favorite flowers are (F/F) and you love to read mystery novels just as much as you love eating chocolate” Your eyes went wide

“Guess we really are friends” You said with a small chuckle and he did the same.

He came over and placed the tray he had on your lap

“Here you need your strength”

“Thanks Erwin!”

“Hey! That’s not fair! Why did you remember him first?!”

“Maybe because I met him first”

“Bah! Anyway Three days ago Erwin ordered all squad leaders to go on a training retreat there you and Levi were assigned as partners for the 3DMG race” You nearly choked on your soup

“Him and me!? Partners? Really?” Erwin chuckled

“Yes believe it or not he gets along best with you”

“Well… That’s one hell of a way to show it” You said bitterly

“Would you just listen to me!?”

“Sorry!” Hanji sighed

“Anyway the race was going great and you and Levi were winning but just as you were about to finish…” Hanji’s voice turned trailed off and Erwin hanged his head. You looked at them

“What happened?” Hanji swallowed “Your belt broke from your gear and you fell” Your eyes went wide

“Levi desperately tried to save you but he wasn’t fast enough and you slipped from his grasp”

“Oh my…” Your hands covered your mouth horrified Erwin spoke up next

“Levi was devastated and was worried sick he stayed here the entire first night and locked himself in his office afterwards he hasn’t come back since well… You know”

“What? Oh man! And I freaked out! Oh God he must feel worse than before! Damn it!” Hanji spoke up

“Hey (Y/N) calm down you didn’t know I didn’t either!” Erwin gave Hanji a confused look

“What do you mean you didn’t know?”

“I knew he freaked out when it happened but I didn’t know he spent the night; I thought you did!”

“I was until he showed up and asked to stay in my place” You felt even worse now

“Oh shit!” They both looked at you while you sighed

“Hanji, when I finish my meal you mind taking me to him? I want to talk to him” Hanji blinked confused

“I don’t mind but are you sure?”

“Yes I am”

“Alright I’ll bring you one of your clean uniforms”

“Thank you Hanji”

After finishing your meal Hanji arrived with your uniform and was going to help you get dressed while Erwin waited outside the infirmary. As Hanji slowly helped you out of bed that’s when you realized how severe your fall really was.

“Gah!” You screamed in pain, everything hurt and you felt really weak.

“(Y/N)! Maybe this should wait…”

“No! This is something I have to do. Don’t worry Hanji; a little pain never killed anyone.”

“Oh alright but don’t overdo it” You nodded and started to get changed.

You currently had an arm around Erwin as he supported you with his around your waist, you could walk on your own but since you were limping too much Erwin decided it would better that you used him as support. You now stood in front of Levi’s office with Hanji and Erwin and you would be lying if you said you didn’t feel extremely nervous.

“You sure you want to do this? It can wait if you’re not ready” Hanji said

“No it can’t. I don’t know why but there’s something inside me that says I have to talk to him” Hanji laughed and you looked at her confused

“I just remembered a novel you once told me about, two lovers that are separated because one loses their memory.” You furrowed your brow confused

“And that has to do with this situation how?” Erwin chuckles at your response

“I see you’re still pretty slow for somethings (Y/N)”

“Oh screw the both of you”

With that said you knocked as hard as you could on the wooden door and waited for a response.

“What?!”The cold and threatening voice made you flinch and freeze for a second. You took a deep breath and spoke up but you still could not speak too loud it hurt to do so.

“I-It’s (Y/N), I need to talk to you” There was no response from the other side and you swallowed hard

“Le-Levi?”

“Come in” he said in a softer but still cold tone. You took a deep breath and nodded.

“You guys can go please I want to talk to him alone” They looked at each other and nodded, Hanji turned the door knob to let you in and they both left.

You took a deep breath and slowly made your way inside, once in you slowly turned around and pushed the door closed using all of your will power to keep you from making any painful noises. You slowly turned around only to find Levi crouched down on the floor picking up a mess of papers and other things that were sprawled on the floor next to his desk.

“What happened here?” You asked surprised at the scene

“Nothing” He said coldly you swallowed hard and slowly made your way next to him.

“Allow me to help” You slowly started to kneel on the floor taking deep but quiet breaths

‘Come on no pain no gain! If I made it through basic training I can make it through this!’ You thought as you finally hit the ground and pain shot through your body but you bit your bottom lip and kept quiet.

You leaned forward a little and started to pick up papers and putting them in neat stacks, well as neat as the pain would allow you to put them. You gave a small glance to the side and noticed Levi had an angry scowl plastered on his face.

‘Now or never I guess’

“So umm… Levi-”

“Do you remember me?” His question caught you off guard

“Oh well… no I only remember up to the day I joined the scouts and Erwin ran me over” you said with a nervous laugh while he looked angrier

“So you remember him and not me. What the hell are you doing here then?” He stopped picking up papers and glared at you. You straightened up and swallowed hard

“Well… I wanted to say that I understand why you acted the way you did earlier today” His eyes narrowed at you

“What do you mean by that?”

“Well Hanji and Erwin explained what happened to me and it’s not your fault if anything it’s mine for not being careful with my gear. So please…” You put an arm on his shoulder and looked at him straight in the eyes “…don’t blame yourself” His gaze softened at your words and you felt your heartbeat increase.

‘Wow he’s really handsome’ you said as you examined his features. Steely eyes that shine with a mysterious but alluring aura, raven hair and beautiful porcelain skin.

Something about him had you entranced and couldn’t help but to imagine what it would be like to be with this man. At these thoughts you felt yourself blush and looked away.

“So umm… Let me help you out here” You said with a nervous laugh, once again starting to stack as many papers as you could but after the third pile you found something other than papers. You found an incredibly familiar bag and took it out of the mess.

“What’s this?”

You said examining it not aware of the steely gaze following you. You opened the bag and found a book that caught your attention. The cover was red with gold decorations but it was very worn out, then you read the title and that’s when the real pain started

“AH!” you screamed as you held your head and dropped the book

“(Y/N)!” Levi yelled as he put his arms around you. Then a memory came to your mind.
